Snow tours (half day) from Launceston to Ben Lomond alpine area to ski, board, toboggan or build a snowman.

(Ski season normally runs between July and September)

The ski season usually begins in mid-July and during this time, the runs are served by up to seven lifts.

Snow located in the Ben Lomond National Park at a  top elevation of 1,575 m.  Up to 7 lifts operate at peak times.

First Time in the Snow?

Heading to the snow for the first time is easier than you think.  On Ben Lomond you can hire ski and snowboard equipment, toboggans, waterproof après boots and waterproof jackets and pants. You will need to bring a beanie, goggles or sunglasses, warm socks and gloves. Sunscreen is also a must.  See Ben Lomond Snow Sports here.

 

Do I need a lesson?  10:00 or 12:00 start time.

Yes, if you have never been skiing or snowboarding before you should take a lesson. Your experience and time on the slopes will be more enjoyable learning from an experienced Snowsports Instructor. If you have skiied or snowboarded before, it is advisable to have a lesson to improve and develop your skills and ski lessons operate at 10:00 or 12:00.

Tour Inclusions:-

  • National Park entry fees;

  • Pick up and drop off at Launceston CBD accommodation;

  • Group photographs;

  • Transport in 4WD vehicle equipped for snow conditions.

 

Tour Exclusions:-

  • Ski, snowboard or toboggan equipment;

  • Alpine clothing hire;

  • Ski or snowboard lessons;

  • Airport transfers;

  • Meals & Beverages;

  • Accommodation.

 

What to bring:-

  • Comfortable enclosed non slip walking shoes;

  • Beanie, sunglasses, sunscreen, sense of adventure;

  • Warm and weatherproof clothing to suit the conditions.

 

Itinerary:-

  • Pick up and drop off from Launceston CBD;

  • 08:30 pick up;

  • No skiing experience is required;

  • Tour Duration approximately 5 hours half day;

  • If we leave the snow field early, we can explore
    Launceston city or Cataract Gorge;

  • Return to Launceston around 13:30.

 

Note:- Minimum of 2 guests for the tour to operate.
